I am a planted tank person, but quickly discovered that Nerite snails will lay their eggs on everything. I had natural driftwood in each tank, and could not remove their eggs from the real wood without destroying it. I tossed my real wood because I can't get the eggs off without damaging the wood. I've decided that a plastic "log" will be able to be scrubbed. I have yet to see any Nerite eggs, but I will at least be able to scrub these harder. The "Mr. Clean Magic Eraser" is great for cleaning smooth surfaces, so I think these logs are a better choice. If planted with real plants around it, they look great! And my shrimp and fry need to have them.
