FISH SHIPPING AND GUARANTEE

 Ordering fish on kgtropicals.com is as easy as ordering any other products but there are some extra steps to ensure the success of the transaction. Follow this simple guide to ensure you’re making the right decisions.

  1. Read and familiarize yourself with our fish acclimation procedures as well as our DOA policy prior to checking out. 
  2. Select the fish and the quantities of each that you’d like to purchase and add them to your cart. This is the fun part of the process but don’t be impulsive. Consider the tank size that you have, the current inhabitants and whether the system can handle the additional bio load.
  3. Once you’ve selected your fish and the quantities and added them to your cart click on the shopping cart icon which will open the shopping cart drawer. There you will find a drop down menu for selecting your shipping date. You must select a shipping date in order to proceed to payment.
  4. The date you select will be the day that your fish are packed and handed over to the shipper, this is NOT the date you will receive the fish. We utilize overnight shipping to ship fish so barring catastrophe or unforeseen circumstances your fish will be delivered the day following the day you select. An example is if you select for your fish to ship on the 1st, we will pack the fish and give them to the shipper the evening of the 1st. The package (again, barring unforeseen circumstances) will then be delivered to you on the 2nd.
  5. We currently ship live fish Monday - Thursday. We're unable to ship fish on Fridays for delivery on Saturday at this time. When you are selecting the date for your shipment if the day you want is greyed out that day is no longer available because our daily maximum is reached or the shipper is not operating that day.
  6. Check the email address you entered at check out. Tracking information will be forwarded to you by way of email the morning of the shipping day you selected. If there is a conflict and you need to reschedule delivery this can be done by contacting us at kgtropicals@gmail.com prior to the packages being handed off to the shipper. Once we have handed it off we’re unable to stop it.
  7. Shipping charges. We utilize overnight shipping for fish and the amount you are charged for this is based on zones (see map). We’re located in North Carolina so orders that are within a few states of NC will be considerably less expensive than orders on the west coast. The farther away the customer is from us the more costly the shipping charges are. We do not make money on shipping, we charge the bare minimum we can to cover the cost of the shipment as well as the box, cooler and all other supplies needed to ensure your fishes safe arrival. We DO NOT charge extra for heat packs, cool packs or any other items we use for shipping.

Unfortunately we're unable to ship live fish to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico at this time.

 KGTtopicals guarantees your fish will arrive to you happy and healthy. If the unthinkable happens and the fish doesn’t survive the shipment we will credit your account the amount paid for the fish to be used on a future order.


Exclusions:

  • The customer is required to be present to receive the package at the time of delivery and the package is to be opened and fish acclimated within one hour of delivery.
  • Clear photos of the dead fish in the bag need to be taken and sent to kgtropicals@gmail.com within 2 hours of delivery of the package. 
  • If the package is delivered at 10 AM and the customer does not contact us until 8 PM (or any time after 2 hours from the delivery) we’re unable to issue credits so it’s imperative that the customer is available to receive the package. One of the most common causes of DOA fish is the package being delivered early in the day and sitting on the porch in the heat or cold until the customer gets home from work. Please ensure you select the right date when scheduling your delivery and follow the tracking information sent to the email address entered into the order.

 

How to receive your DOA credit:

  • When a package is delivered, unboxed within 1 hour of delivery and DOA fish are found, take a clear photo of the DOA fish and email it to kgtropicals@gmail.com within 2 hours of delivery. 
  • If DOA fish are in the order and all criteria is met KGTropicals will issue a credit to the account which can be used to purchase anything on the site and the credit will never expire.
  • If the package is shipped by KGTropicals on time and delivered on time KGTropicals does not credit for shipping costs.
