Monster was originally formulated for monster fish. Large oscars, pike cichlids, arowanas, green terror, peacock bass, jaguar cichlids, Bichars and many others. This large pellet used sustainable marine proteins from Squid, Fish and Shrimp and Spirulina and Wheat Middlings to provide a balanced diet for these hardy eaters. And guess what, aquarists report to us that Monster pellets are great for small fry. Drop a single pellet into a tank of fry and they can munch on it all day. When it dissolved, just suck any remaining pellets out and keep your tank clean.
Had been looking for some very large pellets for my large Koi. Regular fish food is so small that they were just open their mouths and swim with their mouths open and try to get as much as they could. With this food, the pellets are so big they can eat them at one at a time as soon as my larger see me approached the pond they all swim over at the same time fighting to be the first ones to get the larger pellets. They also have a scent that seemed to attract the fish as soon as I drop them into water, they all come over very quickly.
I was looking for some BIG pellet food for my large koi to eat and came across these! When I approach the pond with the container the large fish hurry over to where I stand. I’ve almost got one of them eating from my hand. Will buy more of these when it’s time.
This is great food!!! We have four Oscars and they absolutely love it!!! John and Lisa - I have been in the hobby for 40 years and I have learned more from you two in the past two years than I have learned in the first 38 from other sources.
The cichlids don't seem to love it, but the catfish sure do. It's newly introduced however, and I'm hoping the rest of the denizens will pick up on it. Until then, the catfish are happy campers.
