Trapdoor Snails (Viviparis Malleatus) are freshwater snails that are non-aggressive and unique looking algae eaters. They tolerate wide ranges of water temperatures and a preferred species of snails for pond keepers. These little scavengers do a great job consuming algae, dead plant material and excess fish food in your aquarium and/or pond.
Not only are these beautiful snails, but they keep your aquarium tidy and help keep algae under control. They're natures gift to fish keepers.
Sizes will vary depending on age, but you can expect an approximate size of 1-2 inches.Â
