FritzGuard® is a safe and effective pH-buffered water conditioner that neutralizes toxic chlorine, chloramines and heavy metals found in tap water. FritzGuard® promotes healing and reduces fish stress with aloe vera and vitamin E and provides necessary electrolytes. Naturally secreted by mucous glands, the slime coat is a natural defense system that protects fish from disease, aids in osmoregulation and reduces stress caused by sudden changes in the environment. FritzGuard® provides a replacement slime coat to aid fish that have lost theirs or have been injured due to stress, poor water conditions and handling. FritzGuard® enhances biofiltration by producing a slime coat over the filter media, aiding in the attachment of beneficial bacteria, like those in FritzZyme® biological products.
Directions & Dosage
Use 1 tsp (5 ml) per 10 U.S. gallons (38 L). For best results, add FritzGuard® to tap water before adding water to aquarium. For marine aquariums, turn off protein skimmer for 6 hours after adding FritzGuard® to reduce foaming if a concern. For areas with very high chlorine levels, dosage can be safely increased or repeated up to 5x.
I have been using this conditioner on a daily basis due to me starting a new planted tank. About every 24 hrs the nitrites and nitrates start to spike so I do a water change. So I have used this product several times with great success. It does the job and the fish seem fine after these water changes.
Absolutely love this product you can't go wrong with any of the fritz products I found this website to have the best products and the best prices and the fastest shipping around highly recommend this product and this website.
Not only did John and Lisa package and ship everything quickly, but the customer service was amazing! I received my conditioner and the cap was broken, so I emailed to let them know, snapped a picture, and they sent me another cap for it at no cost to me! The hand-written notes are a beautiful touch, and I will definitely be back for more! Thank you so much John and Lisa, and be well! ❤️
I keep peacock gudgeons who are known for having thinner slime coats. Sometimes after breeding(mine breed very often)or during an illness they can just not be quite right. I feel like using this has made a difference in their health and disposition. They seem more active and have better appetites using fritzguard. Maybe a fluke but I don't think so. It can cause minor foaming at first if using sponge filters or have a lot of surface agitation.
