Crinum calamistratum is an aquatic plant native to Africa. Long flowing leaves with tightly undulating margins are the highlight of this striking plant. Crinum calmistratum is best used as a centerpiece for display in the aquarium. Like other Crinum sp. Crinum calamistratum has a bulb to help it last through periods of low water in the natural environment and can even grow completely emersed in very humid conditions. Crinum calamistratum has large white flowers and typically flowers while emersed although it will sometimes flower in the aquarium, sending its lovely bloom up above the water surface for some lucky aquarists.

I ordered this crinum along with a handful of other plants, and received an email shortly thereafter from John, the owner, to tell me that unfortunately, one of the plants he had in stock was not up to their quality bar, and asked if I would be ok to wait an extra day or two. Rest assured, what you see in the photo is what you get, and John will see to it. Will be back in the future.

I had previously sent KGTropicals a request to get bigger plants, like the ones I have received in the past, but the little plants I got were not what I was expecting. I was hoping to show them in a YouTube video but I’m waiting for them to grow more so I can do that. One of them is rotting, and the rest are fine. So I’m a bit disappointed with my purchase.
