Minimum Tank Size

Aquarium Environment

Thrives in densely planted tanks with driftwood, rockwork, and floating plants to diffuse harsh light. A dark substrate enhances their neon coloration and mimics their native blackwater habitats.

Feeding & Diet

Omnivorous and easy to feed. Offer high-quality micro-pellets, crushed tropical flakes, and live or frozen foods such as daphnia, baby brine shrimp, and cyclops to maintain vibrant colors and optimal health.

Extremely peaceful nano fish. Ideal companions include neon tetras, chili rasboras, dwarf gouramis, corydoras, freshwater shrimp (like Cherry Shrimp and Amano Shrimp), and mystery snails. Avoid large, aggressive tank mates.

Breeding

Egg-attachment spawners that attach eggs to the undersides of broad plant leaves (such as Cryptocoryne or Anubias). Breeding requires soft, slightly acidic water and dim lighting. Parents do not guard eggs and should be removed post-spawning to safeguard fry.
