The new Shark PRO is a completely redesigned internal filter. The new models come with upgraded materials and Innovative design. The new Shark PRO stands alone with unique magnetic system and larger filtration capacity.
I have had the filter installed for 2 1/2 weeks. So far, so good. I have only rinsed the filter pads twice, and taking it apart and putting it back together took a few minutes to figure out. I wasn't looking at instructions, though. I anticipate this will get easier with time. Visually, It surprisingly doesn't call attention to itself in the tank.

These filters are quiet and easy to clean! Silence is a MUST in this autism household! I appreciate the flow options, and not worrying about spills with canisters and hang on back filters.
**But- the larger filters sit closer to the glass than the shark nano filters. This is a problem for my smaller fish getting stuck between the glass and filter and dying. I lost one neon tetra, but found a mountain minnow and a juvenile swordtail in time to release them before they died. I've since wedged a sheet of filter sponge between the internal canister portion and glass. I love these Shark internal filters enough that it's totally worth a $5 pack of sponge filter sheets! (I have 2 in my 75 gallon tank)

Item arrived earlier than expected, but unfortunately it was missing both magnets. I contacted KGTROPICALS and they responded really quick. I got the magnet in a week time frame but again it was the wrong magnet and it was only half of what was needed. I contacted them again and they responded the day after Thanksgiving which was less than 24 hours after I sent them the email that it was the wrong parts. This is why I gave them the 4 stars even if im waiting for the right parts to come in. KGTROPICALS responded quickly and apologized for the miscommunication and are taking care of the issue. Thank you for the Great Service.

great filter, tank looks better than ever

Easy to assemble. Very powerful. Also versatile. I added some zeolite to the media tray. The fish are very happy. The video is my 55 gallon Long tank. Pool sand substrate. The occupants are, 1 panda garr, 1 kuhli loach, 1 ? Loach, 5 cardinal neon tetras, 7 swordtails, 4 platty.

Love the shark pro would definitely recommend it works like a charm and happy to have it

Filter has only been used for a week so it is to soon to tell

Wow, such an easy, quiet, and efficient filter. Love it!

John's not kidding! This thing packs a punch! Also, my betta has decided its her new throne to survey all in her kingdom. She was resting but moved when I approached with the camera.
I bought the 900 model and had to remove one cartridge due to space. It will go horizontal but I already had things there. To be fair, this is in a 20 gallon and it's intended for larger tanks. I'm only using it here to "seed" for the larger aquarium they are moving to soon.
I love this filter! I expect to be buying more for my other tanks to replace my sponge filters. I love the versatility and magnet.
One warning, they are powerful so buy the size you need. My fish and plants don't like current. I've got the directional spout aimed at the lower back wall to keep it from blowing my fish out. 😆 I'll have it moved in 2 or 3 weeks.
I made quite a mess when I installed it with lots of maintenence, planting and way overdue cuttings. The water looked clean the next day and is crystal clear a couple of days later.
The design is very modern and much more attractive than the corner sponge boxes I was using. It's big for sure but the design doesn't interfere with the overall look of the tank at all, even though it's in a tank that's too small.
It will look even better and blend when I get it in the all black background and equipment tank.

I thought was big enough for 55 gal tank but was not my girl had a 26 gal tank that it work with it.

I wanted to wait to review the Shark 900 until after I did my first cleaning of the filter. When I first got the filter, I took it apart to see how it worked. The Shark 900 has 3 filter boxes. All have 2 pieces of course foam on the outside sections. Then one box has finer foam, the second box has bio beads, and the third box has Purigen or something similar. I will probably make a change to use just the sponges, but that is one of the nice things about the filter you can use whatever filter media you prefer.
Cleaning was easy. Getting the filter boxes disconnected from the power head is simple and quick as it is held on with a magnet. This means you do not have to take the power head out of the tank.
I have the filter in my 75-gallon tank with 4 Ranchu goldfish and it did help with the physical filtration pulling floating stuff out of the water.

Thus far I'm highly satisfied with this model. Bought the first gen from here when it first came out and that one is still going today, so when I was able to pick up the pro I know I was getting a good product!!

Purchased the Shark Pro 700 for my 40 gallon new set-up. The driftwood is still leaching tannins so a little hard to see. I am still trying to decide how I want to set the flow. May change to the waterfall. I have a pretty strong flow through the tank with this set up. Being new to planted aquariums, I didn't realize that floaters don't like strong flow. Rescued a few and put them in my Betta tank, the rest are pleco food lol.

I was using a sponge filter on my axolotl tank and kept having clarity issues. Over night the shark cleared it up and keeping it clear. Love the magnet features too, only down side bought it right before the free bonus filter box they ran. Definitely would and have recommended this filter to friends.

I picked up a Shark Pro 700 for my 20-gallon tank after the Tidal 35 was getting clogged by my fish's bioload every 5 days. I gave it a shot after several youtubers said there's no overfiltering a tank. I really love my Tidal and I'm able to still use it for extra water polishing filter media, but some tank situations need a submersible main filter and the Shark Pro is just totally the one, and i love it the most for how customizeable it is, from how many media baskets you can use and what you can put in each one, how you can position it in the tank and how incredibly easy it is to unclip the modules for cleaning. I do recommend the Shark Pro 700 for smaller tanks than what it's made for if you have big fish, lots of fish, or, in my case, one fish that poops a LOT from scraping algae and stuff off the tank decor 24/7.

Very easy to set up. Took a little bit of work to get the lid open for a filter cleaning, but got it done. Now that I've done it once and saw how it slides no problem. Arrived on time, and in good shape. Glad to support KG Tropicals.

Absolutely love this product. It looks super sleek, and the magnet attachment is a dream. No more annoying suction cups. I am planning on buying a second 700 Pro when it's back in stock.

Love the filter. So easy to maintain & move a ton of water. Even better it the costumer service. Great people to do business with ! A+

Love this thing of in my 35 gallon cube.

Love it. Works great. On my 20 gallon.

This has to be one of the greatest filters out there. Nothing beats the ergonomic magnetic design for easy mounting. Not only does it mount to the glass magnetically, the compartments all separate magnetically from the power head for easy cleaning. Before my purchase, I was using two large sponge filters that kept my aquarium healthy, but the amount of particles in the water column was just insane. You can hardly tell there is any water in my tank, it is so clear! In my attached photo, I took it from the side pane of my 55 gal and you can see clear to the back where the filter is mounted! That never use to happen!

This is such a great filter! I love it so
much, I went back and bought a second one!
Leslie D.5/5Verified
I have this filter in a 54 gallon bow front. I usually like a HOB filter but got the Shark 900 because I needed an internal filter for where this tank sits. I was unable to use a hang on back. Shark 900 works well. I like the ability to customize the filter media. Takes getting used to for cleaning. Magnets work well. Thank you for suggesting it. 😁

Very quiet. works great. Love the magnet. Did my first cleaning of the filter and its doing a great job. Glad I went with this unit.
David S.5/5Verified
Fantastic filter! its powerful, effective, and easy to hide. The built in spray bar is the biggest seller for me. One draw back is the cartridge is easily seperatable from the pump head which can be a nuissance when setting up the filter or placing it in the tank but altogether fantastic.

Ok, so, I wanted to wait for awhile until I wrote a review of this filter. I saw the video on Youtube. I tried, very hard, to find any kind of issue or feature that I did not like about this filter. I just want to say that I think the designers took a hard look at the filters currently on the market and then came up with a design that, I think, blows the others away. Say what you will. If you do not buy this filter, You are wasting your money. It is extremely quiet. I love how it attaches to the aquarium. The magnetic feature far surpasses anything out there. I love the flow regulation. I have a 20 gallon aquarium and I have never seen it cleaner than I do with this filter.

Just what I needed! This seemed too good to be true when I first learned of it. But everything works and works well. The spray bar function is fantastic, and the Venturi system is easy and quiet; hard to choose which one to use! And being able to arrange modules and change media inside each portion of the filter is the icing on the cake. Best internal filter I've ever used.

This will be a very long review.
ITS FANTASTIC ready to order 2 more for my other tanks. ❤️😇
Dorothy S.5/5Verified
Super easy to set up the back magnet opens up a lot of placement options that just don't exist with HOBs . Since it's submerged red I don't have to leave that whole in the back of the lid that snails could potential get out of, or some fish could aim directly for. The thing I like about it most is it is quiet. I didn't think that would matter because I have a loud A/C and PC but eliminating the noise my old filter was making made more of a difference than I realized. Haven't been able to keep my YouTube membership up and do the super chats lately. I'm glad John and Lisa sell amazing products so I can still support them by supporting my wet pets!

Love the easy maintenance and the use of good strong magnets. KGTROPICALS video on this unit was the only reason I purchased it.

i really do like this filter! It’s on a 55 gallon that houses 2 large goldfish. I particularly like that it doesn’t take up a lot of space but there’s a lot of power packed into that little black box! While it keeps the water clear I will be adding a couple more segments so I can put in additional polishing media. And that’s only to cut down on filter maintenance. I admit I’m a lazy fish keeper 😁. I docked one star because it is a bit difficult to take the segments apart. More than likely that’s on me as I’m not very mechanically inclined. It’s a fantastic filter and I highly recommend it.
Daryn B.4/5Verified
Love it!! It’s got everything you need in a filter and more! Im going to get more for my other tanks! Thank you guys so much for the filter and for all you guys do!!

Liking the dead silence and the mini spray bar. If the bubble maker is a sale point for you then glue the tube on otherwise it'll come off. The black tip for the tube can be twisted to adjust how much bubbles you want coming out. No complaints here so far.

Love this filter so far! Very easy to set up. Love the design. Fantastic customer service. (Mis typed my zip, they reached out right away and shipped within a day when I updated it) I am very happy with the whole experience!

Great filter. Currently cycling with the HOB in place. I plan to make it the only one in a couple of weeks.
Have it set to the lower setting and with the spray bar.
No problem with the magnets.
Curtis C.5/5Verified
It works amazing and the fish love the little bubbles.
