Anubias Barteri Coffeefolia has been a really wonderful plant to grow in our community aquarium with Geophagus.
Anubias barteri var. 'coffeefolia' is a very decorative form of Anubias barteri. The new foliage of Anubias barteri 'coffeefolia' is a bronze color, which turns dark green with age. The leaves of Anubias coffeefolia have a ribbed look, which is unique in the Anubias genus. Anubias barteri var 'coffeefolia' is easy to grow like the other Anubias species and is strong enough to be used in a Cichlid and regular aquarium tanks.
The rhizome must be kept above the substrate surface or it can rot. Only the white roots should be buried.

Love the deep green of this plant. The top new leaf was very pail when I received it. It turned deep green in a very short time. I'm excited to see it grow. I'm hoping it will be my center piece plant.
All the bigger leaves damaged and came off when removing paper covering. Just needs time to grow back 😃

It came in very healthy but is very small.
I love the dark coffeefolia. I got every type of Anubias they had. That's all I could keep alive after my first order from another vendor. Low tech, first dirted tank, decent light but glass lid and a brown thumb here. I also ordered a few stems or pots. EVERYTHING arrived quickly and beautiful and BIG or bushy (depending). Couple of weeks in and all is well. John reached out to me about one plant issue. I reached out to him regarding what I though was the wrong plant. It is already transitioning. Wow! All I can say is the the plants are awesome, the customer service is great! The sword is starting to melt but I expected that and I think it will be ok. I am not good with plants of any kind and some of my purchase was an experiment to see what I can grow or not. I can already propagate much of it. Some of it is just growing out of the top! Contortion Val, Scarlet Temple, Red Rotala, Anubias Frazeri, Red Root Floaters are just a part of my order that really stand out. 110% Satisfied customer in every way! BTW my fish are loving it!
