Rotala rotundifolia is, without doubt, the most versatile of the Rotala species, as well as the the easiest to grow. While more demanding varieties have been developed in recent years, the type that we grow at Florida Aquatic Nurseries is vigorous, undemanding, and beautiful. It will grow even in moderate light without supplemental CO2. Under those conditions, it is likely to get taller, with more space between the leaves, and remain greener, without so much rosy color on the tops.
Under better conditions, with good light, supplemental CO2 and regular feeding, Rotala rotundifolia is a very rewarding plant. It responds well to heavy trimming, by becoming a dense, full bush with lovely bronze and pink tones.
This plant used to be sold, erroneously, under the name Rotala indica, which is a completely different species.
Common Name: Rotala Rotundifolia
Family Name: Lythraceae
Native To: Wide spread in Asia
Lighting: Moderate to high

Growth Form: Stem
Growth Rate: Fast
Placement in Tank: Mid to background, needs regular trimming
Overall rating: 4.8 / 5 from 98 reviews.
It's the two little ones in the back! Hope you can see them. It was the only two that i got out of the bunch. The other ones didn't work out. They weren't very good. But it was sorta my fault, I should have took pictures when I received them. But live and learn! I'm not looking for anything from ya'll, I'm sure people tell you stories to get more plants but shame on them! I will be ordering more in the future!
Three of the four aren’t doing too well. Giving them a couple more weeks to see if they snap back!

Planted in sand. End's in the sand rotted. Beginner!
My bundle of Rotala is growing like crazy and I love the look.
Stems are healthy and full. Looks good after planting, even though I had to hold it in another tank for a while before planting.
Currently being held in my isolation tank waiting on the new aquarium setup, daily water changes and they look great.

I'm giving you a bad score because I have ALREADY done a review on my purchase but you keep sending me reminders! Very annoying!!!!!
This is the SECOND notice I've received to review this item. I'm NOT going to review it again. They need to pay attention. And my name is NOT Judithn.
Plants arrived fast and packaged well. All are healthy and good portions received.
The whole order of plants were delayed. Just said a trailer was missed to shop out so by time I received my order it was a melty mess! It happened at a time we were busy and running hard (my bad) did not take pictures. But there it is everything melted. The paper it was wrapped in was so hot to the touch I knew it was bad from sitting around delayed on a hot truck.
Order was delayed package of plants was hot to the touch. Everything was melting from the heat and delay of shipping. I planted what I could. Melty mess in my aquarium. Tried removing the mushy leaves but after all the stress and heat well have to wait and see.
