Can’t believe just how fast these are growing! So an amazing looking plant!
Red Tiger Lotus is one of Lisas personal favorite plants for Bettas. Place these bulbs in or partially in the substrate and they will quickly sprout long stems that will work their way up to the top of the tank with large red leaves.
These large leaves will be a great place for your Betta (or any other fish) to hide under or rest on and also provide them a feeling of safety.
You really can't lose with these plants. Put them in the tank and BOOM, watch what happens!!
While these lovely plants are often sold under the common name, red lotus, they are not a lotus at all, but a small, night blooming water lily. They are often an aquarists first introduction to red plants, because they re certainly among the easiest! Usually sold as a tuber with a small leaf or two, they should be planted in the substrate, with the leaves facing up and above the substrate. Although small in terms of water lilies, these are not small plants! They will easily take up a lot of real estate in a 4 foot tank!
They will try to send up a floating leaf from time to time, and if you want the plant to maintain its beautiful underwater leaves, these should be pinched off before they break the water surface. If you let it get away from you, however, and it is producing lots of floating leaves, all is not lost! Snap off ALL the leaves and “train” it to stay under water again. On the other hand, you might enjoy seeing it flower in your tank. In that case, the water level should be far enough below the cover and/or lights, that the flower bud can fully develop. It will open at night and close during the day. Keep in mind, however, that floating leaves will shade your other plants. So a Nymphaea lotus that is allowed to flower should probably be kept in a tank without any light loving plants below it.
Nymphaea lotus 'Red' is a very heavy feeder. It will develop offset plantlets under good conditions with enough food. These can be separated off and used in other tanks. If the tank is not fed well enough, your Nymphaea could starve your other plants. So be sure to feed regularly. This is a plant where a soil based substrate and/or regular addition of good quality, nutritionally complete plant tabs can be a big help. It grows well even without supplemental CO2, but like all plants will show it’s best if CO2 is supplied.

Strong plant material
I was expecting a bulb with just a few sprouts when it got here it already had leaves and since I've got it it has produced three new leads love my Red lotus will definitely be buying more from this company love you guys!!! 💕
After several days of travel from NC to Oregon both Red Lotus i ordered were a little stressed. Both plants are doing great after a few weeks in my 70 gallon aquarium. The aquarium has black substrate and black sand, with red jewel Cichlids. I will definitely order more from KGTropicals in the future.

I wanted to support them so I placed an order to ship with the foods. I love the lily bulbs and wanted more for a while now. They had a great price so I jumped on the offer. The pics show the great shape they arrived in despite the cold temperatures in NJ right now. They got here fast and are already getting more red and sprouting new leaves in the tank. Don't mind the Gourami photo bomb! He's going to love creating a bubble nest in the pads when larger.

All the plants came in phenomenal condition. Only place I order from.
So far, after about 2 weeks they are growing well. They seemed in good condition when they arrived. The only thing, is they were very small. I don't know the norm with this particular plant, but they are doing well so I cannot complain. Overall, I am happy and will likely order from here again.

The whole order of plants were delayed. Just said a trailer was missed to shop out so by time I received my order it was a melty mess! Because these are bulbs they are recovering some. We'll one is doing better than the other.
